Enjoy the very best of Uganda – “The Pearl of Africa” as you explore Murchison Falls National Park. On this safari, expect to see elephants, lions, buffalo, giraffe, antelopes, and other big game as you drive through the endless savannah grasslands of the park. Also, expect to see aquatic animals like crocodiles and hippopotamuses on the boat cruise that will take you to the bottom of the thunderous Murchison Falls.
Day to day itinerary details
Set off at 07:00 am for Murchison Falls. Have a lunch break and thereafter proceed to Murchison Falls Park via the top of the world’s most powerful falls. Hear the thunderous sound of the whole Nile passing through a narrow gorge. Proceed to the Lodge for dinner and the night’s stay.
After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in the northern sector of Murchison Falls. Look out for elephants, buffalo, as well as night dwellers including the leopards, lions and hyenas, which, with a little luck, we will see before they take cover in the thicket shade as the afternoon sun rises. After lunch, head for a cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls where we’ll enjoy unique sights of aquatic wildlife such as hippos, crocodiles and aquatic birds and the breathtaking views of the waterfalls. Return to the lodge for dinner and the night.
After breakfast, we’ll transfer to Budongo Forest head offices for a briefing. This trek will take you deep into a tropical forest where you will see chimpanzee families. You’ll gain an insight into the conservation efforts and how visits such as yours are crucial to the conservation efforts of chimpanzees in the wild. Once with the chimps, spend up to one hour with them as you watch them go about their daily business. Return to the offices where you’ll be transferred to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
After a leisurely breakfast, head off into the wilderness in search of the rhinos. Once found, spend up to an hour with the rhinos as the ranger shares the conservation efforts undertaken to have the numbers increase over the years. Afterwards, you’ll be transferred to Entebbe, where you’ll arrive in the afternoon hours to refresh as you wait for your departure flight.
